Meditations are an ensemble of elegies to and of the environment. The first tapestries of this series have been woven in the Lower Saint-Lawrence region of Quebec (BSL), Canada.

This series has a particular focus on phenomena related to coastal submersion such as the freezing of the Saint-Lawrence and long term, the tragic lessening of the river’s ice cover (Fugue IV). Fugue VII and Fugue VIII focus on the withdrawal and the collapse of glaciers. Fugue VI and Rumble of a Hurricane speak out also as an elegy of and to meteorological of great magnitude such as tropical storms and hurricanes respectively. 

Tapestry as a medium allows for the entanglement of diverse environmental phenomena's depictions, weaved together in the shape of a textured, narrative patchwork at a given time.

Here the unique medium of tapestry is used as a “zone of confluence”  where  art and technology are interwoven, efficiently allowing a head-on confrontation of the latter and a possible sublimation of very technical and scientific data representative of natural phenomena.

The artist’s principal interest is to give substance to these data by taking advantage of one of the oldest craft art ever known: the tapestry and its texture.
